Passion Fruit Lemonade: A Refreshing Tropical Twist

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

Refreshing homemade lemonade with a vibrant tropical passion fruit twist. Perfect for cooling down on hot days!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 ripe passion fruits
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 68 lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 6 cups cold water, plus more for adjusting concentration
  • Ice cubes, for serving
  • Lemon slices and passion fruit pulp, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Passion Fruit Pulp: Cut each passion fruit in half. Scoop out the pulp and seeds into a fine-mesh sieve over a bowl. Optionally, press the pulp against the sieve to extract more juice. Set aside.
  2. Make Simple Syrup: In a saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar dissolves. Cool completely.
  3. Combine Lemon Juice and Simple Syrup: Pour cooled simple syrup into a pitcher. Add lemon juice and stir.
  4. Add Passion Fruit: Pour passion fruit pulp and juice into the pitcher.
  5. Add Water: Add the remaining 5 cups of cold water.
  6. Stir and Adjust: Stir well. Taste and adjust sweetness/tartness with more simple syrup or lemon juice. Adjust concentration with more water if needed.
  7. Chill: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  8. Serve: Fill glasses with ice. Pour lemonade over ice. Garnish with lemon slices and passion fruit pulp (optional). Serve immediately.
