Ingredients
Scale
- 6 ripe passion fruits
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 6–8 lemons)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 6 cups cold water, plus more for adjusting concentration
- Ice cubes, for serving
- Lemon slices and passion fruit pulp, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Passion Fruit Pulp: Cut each passion fruit in half. Scoop out the pulp and seeds into a fine-mesh sieve over a bowl. Optionally, press the pulp against the sieve to extract more juice. Set aside.
- Make Simple Syrup: In a saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar dissolves. Cool completely.
- Combine Lemon Juice and Simple Syrup: Pour cooled simple syrup into a pitcher. Add lemon juice and stir.
- Add Passion Fruit: Pour passion fruit pulp and juice into the pitcher.
- Add Water: Add the remaining 5 cups of cold water.
- Stir and Adjust: Stir well. Taste and adjust sweetness/tartness with more simple syrup or lemon juice. Adjust concentration with more water if needed.
- Chill: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Serve: Fill glasses with ice. Pour lemonade over ice. Garnish with lemon slices and passion fruit pulp (optional). Serve immediately.
