  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings (approximately 12 strawberries) 1x

Description

Enjoy a unique dessert with these Matcha Chocolate Strawberries, featuring fresh strawberries dipped in rich dark chocolate and topped with a vibrant matcha coating. This delightful treat perfectly balances the sweetness of chocolate with the earthy notes of matcha, making it ideal for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and dried
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips (or chocolate bars, chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother chocolate)
  • 2 tablespoons matcha green tea powder
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (optional, for sweetness)
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the Chocolate: Place dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. If using chocolate bars, chop them into small pieces. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth (about 1-2 minutes). For a creamier texture, add coconut oil before melting.
  2. Add Sea Salt: Stir in a pinch of sea salt into the melted chocolate to enhance its flavor.
  3. Mix the Matcha: In a small bowl, combine matcha green tea powder and powdered sugar (if using). Gradually add a teaspoon of warm water, stirring until you achieve a smooth paste.
  4. Prepare the Strawberries: Ensure strawberries are completely dry after washing. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  5. Dip in Chocolate: Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate, coating evenly. Allow excess chocolate to drip off before placing on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Sprinkle with Matcha: Immediately sprinkle the matcha mixture over the chocolate-coated strawberries while the chocolate is still warm.
  7. Let Them Set: Refrigerate the baking sheet for about 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.
  8. Check for Firmness: If the chocolate is still soft after 30 minutes, leave in the fridge for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  9. Plate and Serve: Once set, carefully remove strawberries from parchment and arrange on a serving platter. Garnish with extra matcha powder or edible flowers if desired.
  10. Enjoy: Serve fresh for the best taste. The combination of chocolate and matcha is irresistible!
