Brazilian Lemonade Drink: Refreshing Recipe and Tips for the Perfect Blend

  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 glasses 1x

Description

This Brazilian Lemonade offers a delightful blend of tart and sweet flavors, made with whole limes and sweetened condensed milk. Perfect for hot days, it’s a creamy, refreshing drink that can be enjoyed at gatherings or as a cool treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium limes
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 4 cups of cold water
  • 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Wash the limes thoroughly under running water. Cut each lime into 8 wedges.
  2. In a blender, combine the lime wedges and granulated sugar. Pour in 2 cups of cold water and blend on high speed for about 30 seconds.
  3. Use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth over a large bowl or pitcher to separate the juice from the pulp and peels. Press down on the solids to extract as much juice as possible and discard the solids.
  4. Add the remaining 2 cups of cold water to the lime juice. Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and stir until fully incorporated.
  5. Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or serve immediately over ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
  6. Appreciate the vibrant color and refreshing scent. Sip and enjoy the perfect balance of tartness and sweetness.
  7. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Stir before serving again.
  8. Experiment with fresh fruits or add a splash of rum or vodka for an adult version. For a lighter drink, skip the sweetened condensed milk and use simple syrup instead.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness to your preference by adding more sugar or sweetened condensed milk.
  • For a tropical twist, consider adding fruits like strawberries or mangoes.
  • This drink can be made ahead of time; just mix in the remaining water and ice before serving.
