  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This Beef Stir Fry is a quick and flavorful dish featuring tender beef sirloin and a mix of colorful vegetables, all tossed in a savory sauce. Ideal for busy weeknights, it can be served over rice or noodles for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Toss until the beef is evenly coated. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes at room temperature, or up to 1 hour in the refrigerator for enhanced flavor.
  2. While the beef is marinating, wash and slice the red and green bell peppers into thin strips.
  3. Peel and slice the onion into thin wedges.
  4. Mince the garlic and ginger finely.
  5. Cut the broccoli into small florets and rinse under cold water.
  6. Trim the ends of the snap peas and rinse them as well.
  7. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  8. Add the marinated beef in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding. Cook for about 2-3 minutes without stirring to sear properly, then stir-fry for an additional 1-2 minutes until cooked through. Remove the beef and set aside.
  9. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil and heat for a few seconds.
  10. Add minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  11. Add sliced onions, bell peppers, broccoli, and snap peas. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  12. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  13. Return the cooked beef to the skillet and stir everything together.
  14. Optionally, add a splash more soy sauce or oyster sauce for extra flavor. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes to heat through.
  15. Remove from heat and serve over cooked rice or noodles.
  16. Garnish with chopped green onions and enjoy!

Notes

  • For the best texture, slice the beef against the grain to break down muscle fibers, making it more tender.
  • Feel free to customize the vegetables based on your preference or what you have on hand.
